Drawing on their experience across the nonprofit and life sciences sectors, our panelists will discuss San Diego's unique social impact ecosystem, the region's most pressing needs, and practical ways individuals can contribute to meaningful change. Attendees will leave with new insights, inspiration, and actionable pathways for making an impact.

Erica Halpern, MBA '01 (Columbia Business School)
Chief Executive Officer, Amplified Impact Partners

Erica Halpern leads Amplified Impact Partners, a nonprofit that provides pro bono consulting services to San Diego nonprofits addressing critical community challenges. She oversees a network of more than 100 consultants and staff supporting organizations in strategy, governance, fundraising, operations, and leadership. Prior to Amplified Impact Partners, Erica worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, including serving as COO of Investment Banking Services. She also helped launch the Presidio Trust in San Francisco and served for ten years as an elected Trustee of the Del Mar Union School District.

Alicia Quinn Kitagawa, MSSW '12 (Columbia University)
Executive Director, Life Science Cares San Diego

Alicia Kitagawa leads Life Science Cares San Diego, mobilizing the region's life sciences industry to combat poverty and create pathways to economic opportunity. Previously, she served as Vice President of Strategy and Engagement at United Way of San Diego County, leading initiatives focused on education, workforce development, and financial stability. Her career also includes leadership roles at Mission Edge and Qualcomm, where she advanced corporate social responsibility, nonprofit capacity building, and community engagement initiatives.
