Keynote speaker: Grant Barrett (Columbia Alumnus) is a radio host of “A Way With Words,” public speaker, author, lexicographer, and journalist.
 
His talk will be on “How to Communicate Better --- By Thinking Like A Dictionary Editor!”  Grant will share several ideas from lexicography that can help you think more clearly about what you're writing and saying.   His presentation will help both adults and students to become more effective communicators in business, school, and everyday life.  
 
Grant will also be available for book sales and book signings during the event.  His most recent book is “Perfect English Grammar: The Indispensable Guide to Excellent Writing and Speaking.”
